About Us

Jim is the founder and principal of California Political Advisors. He launched the firm in 2019 with the goal of guiding clients through the legislative process and leading successful political campaigns for local and statewide candidates and ballot measures.

Jim has spent much of his career working in and around the State Capitol, where he’s held roles as chief-of-staff, legislative aide, campaign manager and more. He is well-versed in a broad spectrum of policy issues and has a keen understanding of the legislative process. Jim has also managed multiple political campaigns at the local, state and federal level.

Thanks to his years in Sacramento and ongoing participation in several civic organizations, Jim maintains strong relationships that help him deliver results for current clients.

Prior to opening his own consultancy, Jim spent seven years as political director for the Personal Insurance Federation of California. In this role he advised high-profile member companies on strategic political decisions, represented them before political candidates and managed the company’s marketing and membership program. 

Jim was born and raised in Sacramento and received a degree in Political Science and Spanish from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo. He lives in Sacramento with his wife, Leslie, and two children, Mateo and Mila.
